City Council adopts resolution approving the City of Burlington’s Hazard Mitigation Plan. The goal of hazard mitigation planning is to make homes, businesses and communities less vulnerable to natural hazards both currently and in the future as our City grows.
Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 requires local governments to develop and submit mitigation plans to qualify for federal mitigation funds.
North Carolina Senate Bill 300 of 2001 requires all governments to adopt an approved hazard mitigation and public assistance funds.
