[ARCHIVED] POSTPONED: July 3rd in the Park

As a result of the inclement weather conditions and the predicted forecast of 1 inch of rain for Wednesday, July 3, Burlington Recreation & Parks’ “July 3rd in the Park” event has been postponed.

The event has been rescheduled for August 9, 2013 in the form of an “End of Summer/ Back to School Bash” event. Although this event will still feature a fireworks display and an entertainment and activity lineup to mirror that of the July 3rd in the Park, the selected rescheduled date will allow for the necessary coordination of the event’s activities, entertainment, staffing and public safety considerations. The rain date for the August 9th event has been set for August 16th.

Interested individuals should stay tuned for more information by logging on to www.burlingtonnc.gov/events, liking the Burlington Recreation & Parks Page on Facebook, signing up for email newsletters and alerts at www.burlingtonnc.gov/notifyme, and checking the news media for updates. Questions may be directed to Recreation & Park’s Special Events Coordinator at 336-513-5469.

The July 3d in the Park event is an annual tradition in Burlington that was established decades ago in hopes that families and friends could enjoy a celebration on the evening before Independence Day, allowing the holiday to be spent at home or with loved ones in other communities. This event will continue according to tradition in the years to come.
