[ARCHIVED] City Reports Sewer Overflow

CITY REPORTS SEWER OVERFLOW

As required by the Clean Water Act of 1999 (House Bill 1160), the City of Burlington provides

the following notice:


The City of Burlington had an overflow of approximately 2000 gallons of untreated wastewater

from its sanitary sewer collection system on June 21, 2005. This discharge was released from

a manhole between Maple Avenue and Farmingham Lane entering a nearby stream.


The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Division of Water

Quality was notified. This information is being published as required by North Carolina

General Statutes, Article 21 Chapter 143.215.C.
