As part of the new website developed by the City of Burlington, residents, visitors and officials now have the opportunity to register with the City to receive e-mails regarding City services. The “Notify Me” option can be found in the blue bar on the left of the Home Page of the website under Notify Me E-mail Sign-Ups.
This service allows citizens to subscribe or unsubscribe to e-mail lists of their choice and receive automatic e-mails about what interests them. Categories such as City news, employment vacancies, recreation and parks programs, cancellations and updates, as well as City Council agenda’s can be selected on-line by the public. E-mail addresses are kept confidential and residents can unsubscribe on-line themselves without human interaction.
When a new job is posted to the website, for example, all those who have subscribed to the Jobs E-mail List are immediately notified and sent a link to the new job via e-mail.
