Spring Break Fundays
April 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & April 9th (Closed Friday, April 6th)
7:30am-6:00pm
Ages: 3*-12 & Middle School Students
Locations: Thataways Youth Center or Fairchild Community Center
Fundays Rates:
Full Time Afterschool Participants: included in the monthly fees
Part Time Afterschool Participants & Public: (pay in advance)
Daily Drop In: $16/1st child, $12/2nd child, $10/3rd child
Spring Break Rate (5 days in April only): $60/1st child; $50/2nd child; $40/3rd child
Important Information: On Teacher Workdays and certain Holidays, the Burlington Recreation & Parks Fundays Program operates at Fairchild Community Center on Graham Hopedale Road and Thataways Youth Center on Overbrook Road. These facilities will be CLOSED to the public during Fundays. Children should bring a morning snack, lunch and drink, and also something to rest on for down time. An afternoon snack will be provided. We encourage children to wear tennis shoes and clothes you do not mind getting dirt or paint on throughout our active day. Registration form and payment must be received in advance and a hard copy of the receipt must be presented at the sign in table for Part Time & Public Participants. *Children 3 years of age may attend the Fairchild site. Beginner Disc Golf Camp
Spring Break: April 2nd – 4th
9am - 12pm
Ages: middle school students
Cost: $30 per camper
Cedarock Park
Come learn the rules of disc golf and the proper techniques, various throws and putting techniques. Transportation will be provided for Fundays participants; public must provide transportation for their child. For more information, please call (336) 229-3150. This camp is sponsored by Burlington Recreation & Parks, Alamance County Recreation & Parks, Innova Disc Golf, and the Professional Disc Golf Association. If your child participates at one of the BRPD Funday locations, transportation will be provided to and from Fairchild Community Center and Thataways Youth Center.

Burlington City Park Amusement Rides Open Good Friday
Friday, April 6th

The Burlington City Park amusement rides will be open on Good Friday, weather permitting. Bring your family out to City Park and start a tradition today! Rides include the Historic Dentzel Carousel, train, planes, boats, and cars. For more information, please call (336) 222-5030.

Glow In The Dark Easter Egg Hunt
Friday, April 6th

Mayco Bigelow Community Center
Burlington Recreation & Parks presents the annual Glow In The Dark Easter Egg Hunt. Bring your Easter baskets and enough room to store eggs that glow in the dark. Last year we had over 75 kids to search the gym for eggs with prizes inside and the golden egg. Kids can stick around and get a picture with the Easter Bunny. We will start at 6pm exactly until all of the eggs have been found, so don’t be late. For more information please call (336) 222-5138.

Burlington City Park Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 7th

Burlington Recreation & Parks invites families to the annual Easter Egg Hunt in the Burlington City Park. All hunts start promptly at 10am. Ages 2 to 4 years old will hunt on the grass in front of the Jimmy Combs stage. Ages 5 to 12 years old will hunt on Field #1. Only children are allowed in the hunt areas. Parents are asked to stay out of the hunt area in the designated spectator areas. New this year, we will be using plastic eggs for the hunt. There will be collection bins for the return of the plastic eggs once the prizes have been collected. The Amusement Park will open immediately following the end of the Easter Egg Hunt. North Park Easter Egg Hunt

North Park
Burlington Recreation & Parks invites everyone to be a part of a tradition. We have something for everyone and the Easter Bunny will be there as well. Participants will have the chance to hunt for four golden eggs, worth a $25 savings bond. The crowd is always large and we look forward to seeing you at North Park. Don’t forget your Easter baskets! Aqua Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 7th

Maynard Aquatic Center
Burlington Recreation & Parks invites you to grab your Easter Basket and head to the aquatic center for the annual Aqua Egg Hunt. Join the race as kids from the community jump in for the bright colorful eggs that fill the pool. The hunt will begin immediately following the City Park’s Easter Egg Hunt. After the Aqua Egg Hunt is over, participants of the hunt are invited to swim until 2pm. At 2pm the Aquatic Center will hold half price swim for the rest of the day for everyone and will be open to the public. Bathing Suits are required. For more information, please call (336) 222-5043.

Go Green Kids! Earth Day Event

Join Burlington Recreation & Parks and the Burlington Youth Council as they celebrate Earth Day! Kids will spend the afternoon cleaning up the Burlington City Park, creating arts and crafts with recyclables, and learning about ways to go green in their home with Stormwater Smart. Please bring bug spray, gardening gloves, and a bottle of water with your name on it. All participants will need to wear closed toe shoes with socks, sunscreen, and clothes they do not mind getting dirt or paint on. For more information or to register, please call (336) 222-5134.

Summer Day Camps Open House

Are you ready for summer? Join Burlington Recreation & Parks for the Summer Day Camps Open House! Families are invited out to learn more about the 2012 Summer Camps and youth programs. Meet our awesome camp directors and check out the new Overbrook II camp site. There are eight camp sites to choose from! This open house is for families looking for a fun place for their kids this summer, as well as for campers who have already registered. Families can also enjoy their favorite board games and purchase refreshments. Kids will have the chance to play Plinko for the chance to win a prize! Prizes are limited.
