[ARCHIVED] Water Sampling for Lead and Copper

The City of Burlington Water Resources Department is accepting applications for additional lead and copper sampling locations connected to the Burlington Water Distribution System.

To be eligible for this free test, your home must be a single-family residence that was constructed between January 1, 1983 and December 31, 1987.

If selected as a sample location, the city laboratory staff will analyze a sample of tap water taken from the home for lead and copper contamination. When the analysis is complete, the city will provide a report to the homeowner showing levels of lead and copper found in the water. This analysis will be conducted at no charge to the homeowner. YOU WILL NEVER BE CHARGED ANY FEES FOR THE SAMPLES WE COLLECT OR THE ANALYSIS WE RUN. We are not trying to sell any water treatment device to you. We simply need to add additional sites to our current list.

The results of these tests will also be reported to the NC Division of Water Resources.

If your home was built between January 1, 1983 and December 31, 1987 and you would like to be considered for this free testing, please call the City of Burlington Water Resources Department at (336) 222-5133 between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM and ask for Eric Davis or Glenn McGirt
