[ARCHIVED] City Temporarily Limits Use of Lake Cammack Due to Low Water Level

Effective immediately, The Burlington Recreation and Parks Department will temporarily suspend the use of Lake Cammack for pleasure boating, water skiing, jet skiing, tubing, and other related water sports. The suspension is due to a drop in water level which has rendered the use of Lake Cammack unsafe for such activities due to unseen hazards such as submerged stumps that are now dangerously close to the Lake’s surface. Water levels in the Lake have been kept purposefully lower than normal due to construction activity but because of recent lack of rainfall water levels have dropped lower causing concern of water sport safety. Construction is now complete, however, and water levels will be allowed to rise as we receive rainfall.

NOTE: Fishing in the Lake will continue to be permitted

The suspension of these actives will remain in place until water levels return to a safe depth.

Please contact the Lake Cammack Marina at 421-3872 for updates on current water levels.
