[ARCHIVED] Fire Department Wounded Warrior Project T-Shirt Sale

WWP T-Shirt

After the huge success of last year’s Pink Tee-Shirt campaign, the Burlington Firefighters are “back in black!” This year, we have once again elected to raise funds for an organization that we feel is making a positive impact on our community. In doing so, we feel it is necessary to pay homage to our nation’s true heroes. The beneficiaries of this year’s campaign will be men and women of our nation’s armed forces, injured while protecting the freedoms that so many of us take for granted… our “Wounded Warriors.”

Burlington Firefighters have teamed up with the Wounded Warrior Project as a third party supporter for this campaign. The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors. The purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of our injured service members. The Wounded Warrior Project helps injured service members encourage and assist each other, as well as providing unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs. Thousands of wounded warriors and caregivers receive support each year through WWP programs designed to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement.

This year, we have taken the necessary steps to make purchasing shirts easier by providing convenient, one-stop shopping through our newly designed web site, www.fdgives.com. Also, in addition to our tee-shirts, customers will have the option this year to purchase long-sleeved tees and hoodies. Connecting to www.fdgives.com will provide customers with various purchasing options, as well as links to compelling videos and information about the Wounded Warrior Project.

Please join us in supporting these deserving men and women as they return home. Each purchase will help injured service members receive the care they need to maximize rehabilitation, achieve independence, and live active and healthy lives. These warriors have paid a heavy price for their country; it’s time we return the favor… one shirt at a time.
