The City of Burlington, along with the Textile Heritage Museum and the Alamance County Rescue will be hosting a one-day community cleanup of Lake Cammack and its shoreline. The event, coordinated by the City of Burlington’s Water Resources Department, is to take place on July 30th, beginning at 8:00am.
Volunteers play a vital role in the cleanup efforts. The City is soliciting individuals, community groups, and volunteer organizations to assist in the effort to clean Lake Cammack and its shoreline. If you are interested in participating as a volunteer, a sponsor, or would like to otherwise donate your time, please contact the City of Burlington at ebrodnick@ci.burlington.nc.us or (336) 222.5140 to register.
The Water Resources Department is working to conserve and protect Burlington’s water quality and quantity, as well as preserve natural aquatic habitats and provide for recreational access to waterways. Hosting monthly community waterway clean-up days is a large part of this effort. Participants in community clean-up days will receive water quality volunteer points for their efforts.
