[ARCHIVED] Spring into Cleaning 2011


FEBRUARY 14th -- APRIL 1st 2011: Bulk Waste Collection Fees will be Waived!

In an effort to help clean up the city, the Burlington City Council is waiving bulk collection fees for a limited time. This promotion applies to residential units currently receiving bulk collection services.

Please be sure to place items out one day prior to your normal trash pickup day!

No fees will be charged for bulk yard waste, bulk junk or bulk metals/white goods during this time period. Normal, bulk collection fees are $6.75 per "bite" of the bulk trucks when there is more than one bite per truck type (bulk yard waste, junk, metal/white goods).

Bulk Yard Waste:
-Tree trimmings (6 feet or less in length)
-Limbs (6 inches or less in width)
-Large yard waste volumes
-Note that collection of small yard waste items, properly placed/containerized are always collected at no charge
-All yard waste is taken to be recycled.

Bulk Junk:
-Large household items
-Large furniture items
-Rolled Carpet

Bulk Metal/ White Goods:
-Large Household Items
-White Goods
-Large Metals
-All Metals and White Goods are taken to be recycled.

Items NOT included due to a landfill ban:
-Used oil, filters, anti-freeze, lead acid batteries
-Scrap Tires
-Construction debris and wood pallets
-Oyster shells
-Florescent tubes and electronics
-Recyclables (these are collected by TFC)
