Thanks to federal stimulus funds, downtown Burlington and City Park will soon offer free public wireless Internet access beginning on September 1.
The wireless signal will be available around the City Park Amusement Area, as well as the 12-block downtown area between Church St & Lexington Ave and from Morehead St to Webb Ave. Signal strength will vary but should be be strongest outside and perhaps into some storefronts. Businesses that desire a stronger Wi-Fi signal inside can purchase repeaters to amplify and push the signal into their businesses.
