The City of Burlington expects to receive approximately $117,446 of Community Development Block Grant Recovery (CDBG-R) program funds allocated under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The City has prepared a proposed amendment to the 2008-09 Annual Action Plan of the Community Development Program Consolidated Plan to use these supplemental funds for the St. John Street Culvert Improvements project. Funds will be expended to upgrade the culvert located near the intersection of St. John and Mebane Streets to improve storm water drainage in the area.
Citizens and interested parties are encouraged to examine and submit written comments on the proposed amendment to the 2008-09 Annual Action Plan of the Consolidated Plan. Copies of the proposed amendment are available for public review for seven (7) days from May 23 to May 29, 2009 in the Burlington Planning and Community Development Department, 425 South Lexington Avenue, Burlington, North Carolina from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
