On the morning of July 30, at-risk youth answered their community’s call for help. Thirty-nine cadets from the Burlington Junior Police Academy delivered over 1,400 food items to Loaves & Fishes, a food ministry for Alamance County. While many of these young people face their own adversities on a daily basis, the cadets stepped-up to the challenge helping to feed hungry families in their community.
The Burlington Junior Police Academy is an annual program designed to provide at-risk youth social skills intended to make them more productive students and members of society. The program is funded through both monetary and in-kind donations from the community. To find out more information on the program or to offer assistance, contact Cpl.
