A public hearing will be held at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 3 at 7:00 PM regarding a proposed ordinance to limit street solicitation.
In response to concerns for both pedestrian and driver safety, the Council is considering an ordinance that would prohibit people from standing "on any street, highway, or right-of-way, excluding sidewalks ... while soliciting or attempting to solicit any employment, business, or contributions from the driver or occupants of any vehicle."
Numerous citizens have expressed concern over this type of solicitation and the City encourages these individuals to come to the meeting express their concerns.
