Burlington Chief of Police, Mike Williams, along with gang unit officers gave City Council a presentation on gang awareness efforts in Burlington at the September 4 Council meeting.
Among the many topics discussed were:

- Criminal Street Gangs
- Statistics
- Prevention, Intervention, and Suppression
- G.R.E.A.T. and other programs
- Community Crime Abatement Team
Officers spoke on the importance of parental and community involvement in preventing gang activity in the City. Police have gang identification cards available to parents and the public at their station at 267 W. Front Street.
