Recently the City Council awarded a $2.8 million dollar contract to Riley Paving, Inc., Carthage, N.C. to patch, mill and resurface approximately 30 miles of City maintained streets. This is the largest single street resurfacing contract ever let by the City of Burlington. Work is expected to begin in early May and progress through October 2006. This initial contract is a result of voters approving a $9 million dollar bond referendum in November 2005. Additional street repairs and improvements will be conducted over a 3-year period.
