Caboose To Be Removed From City Park
The City Council voted Tuesday night to have the caboose in City Park removed. The Recreation and Parks Commission met last Tuesday to discuss the issue of the caboose and presented their recommendation at the City Council meeting that they had unanimously agreed that the caboose needed to be removed. Director of Recreation, Tony Laws stated in his presentation of the recommendation, that among the concerns voiced about the caboose was the issue of liability if it was to be used a playground equipment and fact that the caboose was located in an area that tended to flood. The Council followed the Commission’s recommendation with a vote of four to one.
