Mayor Stephen Ross Recently Attended the 2006 Emerging Issues Forum
Mayor Stephen M. Ross recently attended the 2006 Emerging Issues Forum at North Carolina State University. The Institute for Emerging Issues was founded four years ago to help develop and advance innovative public policy that translates ideas into action.
This forum marks 21 years of achievement in creating partnerships between leaders in business, government, and higher education.
The forum was chaired by former Governor James B. Hunt Jr., and included many national leaders such as former Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neil, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, Former Virginia Governor Mark Warner, Minister for Community Development Vivian Balakrishnan from Singapore, and Former Russian Prime Minister Yegro Timurovich Gaidar.
The main focus for this session was Financing the Future. The forum helps to create innovative public policy through research, ideas and debate. Mayor Ross believes offering creative responses to a challenging world will enable all North Carolinian’s to enjoy growth and prosperity.
