This year's National Night Out was amazing success! We would like to thank all of those who participated, both community members and officers alike. We cannot wait to do it all again next year. In the meantime, enjoy these pictures from the 2018 NNO.
Each year on the first Tuesday in August, the community, the police department, the fire department, and other city staff come together to meet and discuss what is going on in the city of Burlington. National Night Out is a great opportunity for community members to meet with officers of the BPD and talk about their concerns with the city or about what they think is going well within the city. NNO usually consists of block party or barbeque style celebrations with lots of dancing, fun competitions, and definitely some good food. The BPD sincerely appreciates all the hard work and planning that goes into these events and would like to thank the community for hosting these numerous events. There were 41 locations, and we had 101 sworn staff, 17 civilian staff, and 17 volunteers participate, plus 22 city staff members, and the numerous community members who showed up despite some inclement weather. We hope to see you all next year on August 6th when we do it all again. In the meantime, enjoy these snapshots of the great time that was had by everyone at the 2018 National Night Out.
