[ARCHIVED] Spring Citizens Academy

CITIZENS ACADEMY

The 2018 Spring Citizens' Academy is now underway. We will host another academy this fall, and we are always taking applications!

The Burlington Police Department is hosting its Bi-Annual Citizens Academy this spring. The Citizens Academy will be meeting on Tuesday nights starting March 6th, 2018 at the Burlington Police Department. Times for the classes are from 6:30pm-9: 30 pm each Tuesday. We would like to invite you to participate and learn about what your police department does in our community. During this ten week program you will be educated about the different sections within the department, and the people and jobs they do in our community. There will be one Saturday session held during the academy at the Burlington Police Training Facility for some hands-on experience. The next academy will be held in the Fall of this year. You can apply at anytime.

If you are looking for an opportunity to volunteer in your community with the police department, please apply to attend. The department utilizes this program to recruit our growing volunteer base. Please contact Granville Simmons Outreach Specialist at gsimmons@burlingtonnc.gov or Lt. Mark Yancey at myancey@burlingtonnc.gov if you would like more information. You can also go online and complete the application for the Citizen Academy or click on additional information below to learn more about how the Citizens Academy works.
