At its December 6, 2016 meeting City Council held a public hearing to receive citizen input on the proposed design of the arboretum planned at Willowbrook Park.  The New Leaf Society design team presented the proposed design and input was received from residents on the plan.  At the conclusion of the public hearing City Council directed the New Leaf Society to reach out to residents near Willowbrook Park to work through the various design element concerns that were noted by residents at the hearing In response to this your attendance is requested and needed to learn about the Park improvements and to make suggestions at an Information-Input  Session & Design Charrette that will be held as follows:

What:          Information-Input Session & Design Charrette

When:         Monday, December 19th

Where:       John R. Kernodle Senior Activities Center (1535 S. Mebane)

Time:           6pm – 8:30pm

Agenda:      6pm to 7pm – Project Overview and Q&A

The New Leaf Society design team will provide an overview of the current proposed design and conduct a question and answer session to allow residents who are not familiar with the project an opportunity to learn, ask questions and provide input. Important items for your information will include: the inital construction activity which will be the stream restoration of the creek presented by the City and consultant Ecosystem Planning and Restoration (EPR), the Arboretum preliminary design by the New Leaf Soceity, and the proposed Commons building with restrooms by Plageman Architects.

      7pm to 8:30pm – Design Charrette

Residents and the design team will interact and collaborate using site maps to identify alternative ways to best address the design concerns raised by residents.  We need your input and suggestions to go forward.
