The Burlington Police Department offers a Ride-Along Program to residents. This program allows citizens to accompany patrol officers while on duty.
The Ride-Along program was initiated to help the general public grasp the broad scope of police work done in the City of Burlington.
This program is incredibly important to this organization because of its ability to build trust within the community. Chief Smythe stated that “the Burlington Police Department is filled with hard working, professional men and women who display integrity in everything they do; any person riding with our officers will be struck by the truth of that statement.”
