On the home page of the City website is an Opinion Poll that can be used for a number of purposes, for example the Mayor and council could poll citizens on their views regarding a proposed annexation.
The first poll posted was to discover how visitors were directed to the new website.
Here are the results as of the end of October 2004:
41 % heard of the new site through the media
13% through a City announcement
5% via word of mouth
26% came across the site surfing the internet
14% found the site in "other" ways (this includes those who came across the site by typing the
old City address of www.ci.burlington.nc.us)
The current poll will soon be retired and a new one put in it's place.
