[ARCHIVED] Volunteers Needed for Staley Creek Clean Up 4/25

Stream Clean Up

The City of Burlington Water Resources Department invites individuals and service groups in the area to participate in a stream-side cleanup of Staley Creek and its tributaries. The event will take place on April 25th from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Volunteers will meet at 849 Sharpe Road in the Mayco Bigelow Community Center parking lot. Trash bags and safety vests will be distributed before volunteers head out along the creek’s edge to remove garbage and debris.

The Staley Creek Clean Up offers volunteers a chance to make a difference for the environment by promoting the protection of water quality, riparian ecosystems, and recreation uses within Alamance County. Come out and join us as we remove debris and other items from the stream that have an impact on water quality.

This cleanup is sponsored by Burlington’s Water Resources Department and the Kiwanis Club of Burlington and its numerous Key Clubs.

For more information or to register as a volunteer, you can contact the Water Resources Department at cpatterson@ci.burlington.nc.us or call (336) 222-5140.
