[ARCHIVED] Need Leaf Relief?

Leaf Collection

The City of Burlington’s Cemetery and Grounds Division has recently completed its scheduled 2014-2015 loose leaf collections. While scheduled leaf collection has concluded, during the month of February, residents still requiring loose leaf service may call (336) 222-5005 to schedule a loose leaf pick-up.

Loose leaf collection by request is only available during the month of February. Prior to scheduling a collection, leaves should be prepared according to loose leaf collection guidelines:
• Leaf piles should not be in the street, in drainage ditches, or over water meters.
• Do not park in front of or on leaf piles.
• Leaves which contain gravel, limbs, glass, or other solid debris cannot be collected.

Should residents require leaf collection after February, leaves may always be placed in yard waste containers (no more than 32 gallon containers weighing less than 50 pounds.) or in clear plastic bags (weighing less than 50 pounds) for collection on the residents’ regular garbage collection day.
