[ARCHIVED] Burlington Fire Hosts Open House: October 5th

Open House

October is Fire Prevention Month in Burlington. The Burlington Fire Department will celebrate by bringing the fire prevention message into Burlington elementary schools and inviting the public into Burlington’s fire stations.

During the month of October, a team of Burlington firefighters will visit all ten elementary schools in Burlington. A firefighter will visit every class in grades K-5 with a twenty minute, interactive, age-specific presentation about fire safety. This initiative will not only provide fire education to the children of Burlington, but will allow for trust building between fire department staff and students.

On October 5th, the Burlington Fire Department will host open houses at all 5 Burlington fire stations. The open houses will take place from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. Residents are invited to drop in to their neighborhood fire station during this time to meet the staff, receive giveaways, receive department tours, and enjoy refreshments while getting to know the firefighters that serve their community.
