The Arboretum at Willowbrook Park host various educational and learning opportunities throughout the year. In addition to the scheduled events, private tours or talks can be requested by groups or organizations.

Little Alamance Creek Cleanup

Calling individuals, groups and organizations to lend a hand and help us do a clean sweep of Little Alamance Creek at Willowbrook Park and at City Park. The cleanup kicks off Alamance Creek Week! Meet at the Commons Building at Willowbrook Park at 9 am for instructions and supplies. For questions and registration, call (336) 222-5091 or email us! Registration is preferred, but not required.
Kids to Parks Day

Come out and play in Burlington's newest park! Visit the Park & Play mobile recreation van with life-sized games and play equipment! Explore waterbugs in the creek and learn why it's so exciting to find them and, for the willing, have an up-close encounter with some macroinvertebrates! Learn about trees and go on a tree ID scanger hunt. Arboretum Manager and certified arborist, Jason Barnhill, will be on hand to help identify these tree-mendous plants. - Summer Tour: Saturday, July 30 from 10:00-11:30 am.
- Fall Tour: Saturday, October 22 from 10:00-11:30 am.
- Winter Tour: Saturday, February 18 from 10:00-11:30 am.

Arboretum at Willowbrook Park | 315 W. Willowbrook Dr. Burlington
Experience the seasons during a guided tour of the Arboretum at Willowbrook Park. The park's horticulturist will lead the group through the park discussing how the park was developed, and the partnerships involved to make and keep the arboretum beautiful. The tour will include stops at the Commons Building, Veteran's Overlook, treehouse, wetland gardens, as well as the various plant collections - daylilies, hostas, azaleas, roses, hydrangeas, camellias and more! The tour is about 1.5 miles long on the paved pathways that meander through the Arboretum. Tours are free. Registration required. Space is limited. Registration opens 1 month prior to the tour date.
Private Tours & Talks
Do you have a group or organization interested in learning more about the Arboretum? Arboretum staff can curate private educational and informational tours on-site at Willowbrook Park, as well as, provide off-site talks on topics related to the Arboretum. Staff will do their best to accommodate all requests. All private tours and talks are available by appointment only. To make a tour or talk request, complete this form and Arboretum staff will get back with you in a few days.
