Maple Avenue Corridor Façade Grant Program

Do you know a business owner on Maple Avenue looking to improve the exterior of their property, but are lacking the funds to start a new project? If so, direct them to the City of Burlington’s Economic Development Department, where they can apply for up to 10,000 dollars to improve the beautification of their property.  

Projects can include a diverse range of improvements from re-painting, awning installation, signage, and addressing code violations. The city will provide 75% of the project costs with a minimum of $1,000. For example, if a project costs $4,000, the city will contribute $3,000, all of which is awarded without strings attached, and the business is responsible for $1,000. You do not have to pay the grant money back! Sounds too good to be true, right?

First impressions are crucial to garnering positive reputations and heightening consumer retention. It matters what customers see when looking at businesses from the street, as it can make or break their decision to spend money at your institution. Oftentimes, paint and other exterior additions are the least of business owners’ worries. Let us help take some of the financial burden away by subsidizing the costs of your next exterior refurbishment.  

Beyond attracting new business, revitalizing the exterior of just a single building in a commercial district can stimulate positive change in neighboring buildings. Thus, it creates a domino effect of beautification, which increases attraction to the area and strengthens economic vitality in the community. Ultimately, this grant opportunity will significantly influence various aspects of the Maple Avenue corridor past business success, as it contributes to the formation of a healthier and more prosperous community for residents, businesses, and potential consumers and entrepreneurs.
