Downtown Parking
With the warmer weather and the addition of many great merchants, stores and restaurants downtown Burlington is seeing an increase of activity! This is a great for our community and our beautiful historic downtown. This is also a great time to remind the community about parking in downtown. There are convenient free long-term parking- lots right in the downtown core. There also many short term parking spaces located along the street that are designed for downtown visitors and short-term parkers. Keep your eyes open and make sure you know what spot you are parking in. The Burlington Police department will be monitoring the parking in downtown over the coming weeks and helping in the education of the community through warning notices. This is a good problem to have in a community and we are thankful of our residents and visitors for making sure they are parked in the correct spot and not blocking any driveways. For full traffic and parking ordinances. We would like to remind everyone:
In March of 2013, the Burlington City Council voted to approve some strategic modifications to downtown parking regulations and enforcement. These changes were recommended by city staff as a result of the Downtown Parking Plan completed in November of 2012. The goal of the regulation adjustments and increased enforcement is to transition long-term parkers into the city’s lots, making on-street parking more readily available to downtown visitors and short-term parkers. With questions about Downtown Parking or Parking Tickets, please contact the Burlington Police Department at 229-3503. |
