Youth Soccer
Sign-up for the Spring season begin in early January. Fall sign-ups begin in early June. Leagues are offered for ages four and up. After the first league (Biddy - an instructional league with no score being kept) the participants are divided by age and gender. The fall soccer league signals the changes in the league age divisions each year. The participant's birth date by August 1st of the fall season determines the league the child plays in for both the Fall season and the Spring season. When registrations are offered for the Fall season you may sign up for two seasons. For questions on how to register for soccer, see the "Frequently Asked Questions" page linked at the top of this page.

THE GOALS OF BURLINGTON RECREATION SOCCER ARE FUN AND PARTICIPATION FOR THE KIDS.  IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A HIGHER LEVEL OF COMPETITION AND MORE ADVANCED INSTRUCTION, YOU MAY BE INTERESTED IN THE BURLINGTON SOCCER CLUB, WHICH SPONSORS TRAVEL TEAMS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS, BEGINNING AROUND AGE 8.  FOR MORE INFORMATION, VISIT;   www.bscsoccer.net

Registration Process: To register your child for youth soccer, you can come to the office during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM).  One of our front office staff people will pull up your account, register your child, and take your payment with cash, check or MasterCard or Visa.  Most returning players will already be in the system, but please some form of ID.  Returning players with no address change may be able to register by phone with a MasterCard or Visa. New players will need to show a birth certificate and proof of residency.

Youth Basketball
This activity is offered during the Fall and Winter months. Registration begins early September. Ages start at five with a Biddy Instructional league.  The Biddy and Pee Wee age categories do not keep score, and are considered instructional leagues.  Practices begin in October and games begin late November and continue until the end of February.

Please be aware that we have historically not had enough girls sign-up to create seperate leagues for the girls in Mite, Midget and Intermediates.  Any girl who wants to play through the Rec Dept will be allowed to play in the boys leagues.  For those preferring a girls-only league, the YMCA generally gets enough sign-ups to run seperate girls leagues, and they can be reached at 227-2061.
