Swim Lessons



 2015 Spring Lessons

Spring sessions will run 3 weeks in length, with 2 lessons per week for a total of 6 lessons.
Lessons are offered on either a Monday/Wednesday rotation or Tuesday/Thursday.
Lessons are also offered in the mornings and the evenings.

Now Hiring: Part-Time Swim Instructors (Recreation Department)

Salary - $9.00 - $11.00 per hour

Must be 16 years of age or older to apply. Must be able to swim. Previous experience either on a swim team or teaching lessons is required. ASCA or WSI certification preferred. Responsible for teaching group and private swim lessons to ages 6 months – adult. Will mostly teach ages 6 months – 8 years. Will work 2-4 days per week per session. Sessions run for 3 weeks at a time. Evening only lessons in the spring, morning and evening lessons in the summer. We will provide most of the lesson plans and skills to teach, but instructor must know skills already and must be able to put together a lesson plan if needed. Open Until Filled. Swim Lessons
Each session will include six, 30 minute classes, divided into two classes per week for three weeks.

You choose either Monday/Wednesday classes or Tuesday/Thursday classes.

 


 Water Fun Parent and Child  
 The Parent practices with the child in the water, while at the same time the parent learns what skills, drills and games to play with the child when they are at the pool. This class is for parents and children ages 6 months to 3 years old. 
** Minimum of 2 participants to have class
** Maximum of 10 participants per class


 Learn To Swim Classes - Level I - Beginner  
 These classes teach the participant to how to swim 5 yards unassisted without stopping, beginning with the fundamental life-saving skills then progressing to forward movement. If the participant cannot already swim 5 yards, then these are the classes to take.    

** Minimum of 2 participants to have class
** Maximum of 4 participants per class


 Learn To Swim Classes - Level II - Intermediate  
 If the participant can already swim between 5 yards and 15 yards unassisted, then Intermediate is the class to take. This class will build the swimmer's swimming efficiency.

** Minimum of 2 participants to have class
** Maximum of 4 participants per class
Level 3 - Swim Clinic  
 If the participant can already swim 15 yards (1/2 the pool length) unassisted, then Swim Clinic is the class to take. This class will work on improving the fundamentals of swimming in breath control, balance, sculling, and rhythm. These are the skills that all competitive strokes are based on.  

** Minimum of 2 participants to have class
** Maximum of 8 participants per class


 How to sign up  
 Come to The Maynard Aquatics Center to sign up for swim lessons and any helping member of our team can be of assistance.   Session Fee:
  • $30 Group Lessons
  • $45 Private Lessons
 We can only accept CASH or CHECK. We are sorry for the inconvenience.   Payments are required for each participants session in advance at The Maynard Aquatics Center.
