Hunter Education Program - Feb. 11 - Feb. 12
For All Ages (recommended for ages 12 & older)

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and Burlington Recreation & Parks presents the Hunter Education Program. This program is designed to promote the safe handling of firearms and archery equipment, teach responsible, ethical conduct by hunters, educate sportsmen in the various methods and the proper use id equipment harvesting game, and endorse the importance of wildlife management laws and regulations. Participants will receive their Hunter's Safety Certification and badge after passing a written exam. Participants must pre-register and attend both days. Special Population’s Valentine’s Dance - Feb. 14

Middle School Dance - Feb. 17
Ages: 6th, 7th, 8th grade only!

Burlington Recreation & Parks invites middle school students to spend their Friday night at Thataways! We have 3 pool tables, foosball, Wii, and arcade games. Plus, 3 TV’s to keep up with all the sport scores! Pizza, hot chocolate, nachos, popcorn, and candy are all available for purchase in our concession stand. Third Saturday Theatre Skills Training (TSTST) - Scriptwriting - Feb. 18
Ages: 13-19

Burlington Recreation & Parks and Teen to Teen Theatre presents Third Saturday Theatre Skills Training workshops for teens. In this workshop learn how to take your story idea and write it as a script. Simple scenes written by students will be performed by members of the class. Emphasis on movements and character descriptions will give participants basic tools for scriptwriting. These workshops will be taught by Teen to Teen Director, Carol Plew. Youth Artist Expo - Feb. 25
For All Ages

The Burlington Recreation & Parks Burlington Youth Council and Teen To Teen Theatre presents a Youth Artist Expo. Spend your evening at Thataways Youth Center watching talented tweens and teens recite poetry, dance, sing, and play music. Also, there will be art displayed throughout the center created by youth. Concessions will be available for purchase. If you are a teen (ages 12-18 only) who would like to perform at this event or would like more information, please contact us at (336) 222-5134.
