Fitness Program

Fitness classes and the fitness room are located at the Kernodle Senior center. Various exercise classes are available and geared towards keeping seniors active, fit and healthy. The fitness room requires a paid membership, but contains state-of-the-art fitness equipment and machines. Pickleball and badminton are available for Seniors at Fairchild Community Center gym.

The Fitness Room

To join the fitness room, you must pay the membership fee as well complete the orientation session to be trained in the safe operation of the fitness equipment.

Membership Fees

    Resident: $25 per month /  $125 per year
    Non-Resident: $30 per month / $150 per year

Personal Training Option

Offered by Amanda Sommer.
Private 30-minute sessions are $25.
Semi-private (2 people) are $15 per person.

Arthritis Exercise & Balance Program

Mondays & Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:30 am
For Adults 55+
Cost: $35 for a 10 class punch card
The program includes endurance, flexibility, and strengthening exercises done in chairs or standing beside a chair. This class can improve mobility, balance and range of motion. Call (336) 222-5135 for more info and registration.

Weight Accountability Group (WAGS)

Wednesdays from 10:30 - 11:00 am
For Adults 55+
Cost: FREE
WAGs is a support group that is committed to implementing healthy eating and exercise habits. Sessions share information on losing weight, maintaining a healthy weight, fitness and making healthy choices. Call (336) 222-5135 for more info.

For Adults 55+
Cost: $40
This class focuses on strength training for those who would like to increase strength, muscular endurance, or tone their body. Benefits of strength training are improved joint function, reduced risk of injury, increased bone density, increased metabolism, improved cardiac function, increased strength & balance. Baseline weigh and BMI may be calculated if desired to see monitor improvements throughout the class. Call (336) 222-5135 to register.
